Winter’s chill came early this year, but no amount of cold can stop the music. This month, we’ll outline venues and concert going opportunities to keep you busy in Salt Lake City’s great indoors!
Oft times overlooked, Kingsbury Hall has unique and affordable acts throughout the winter, including live music. This year, keep an eye on tickets for:
The Lower Lights Christmas Concerts, from December 11th - 14th ($15/ticket)
Black Violin on January 21st ($10/ticket)
U of U students typically get discounts, so bring your student ID!
Salt Lake County Arts & Culture
This is your one stop shop for all live music opportunities at Abravanel Hall, Eccles Theater, Capitol Theater, and Rose Wagner Center.
Between the four, you could fill your entire winter with live classical, holiday themed or contemporary music with price points to match a variety of budgets. Check out their schedule, or each individual theater’s website for details!
While movies are the entree of this eleven day Park City event, the Sundance Film Festival also attracts a wide variety of musicians to perform in pop-up lounges. While they’ve yet to release a full program, keep an eye on their website to see who you may catch!
In addition to theaters and festivals, Salt Lake City is host to many music venues to scratch that concert itch. Here are just a few favorites:
The State Room - 21+ intimate venue, and popular spot to see rock and folk artists.
Kilby Court - Longest all-ages venue in Utah, hosting local and touring artists. Small but mighty, keep an eye on their lineup - sometimes a gem will roll through!
The Depot - 21+, two story venue whose size accommodates a variety of larger names as they travel through.
While this list certainly doesn’t cover every venue the Salt Lake Area has to offer, we hope that it inspires some musical reprieve from winter’s hibernation. Bundle up, get out there and happy listening!
